    Frequently Asked Questions

Who do you help with executive coaching?

    +
We help executives and high-potential leaders across job functions. We work with individuals as well as entire leadership teams.

What does the executive coaching process look like?

    +
Every engagement starts with learning what motivated you to reach out, what your challenges are and what is getting in the way of performing at your best. From there, we develop an individualized coaching plan with specific, measurable goals. Depending on the engagement, we may do 360 assessments with colleagues, direct reports and your boss. The cadence of coaching meetings (held virtually) also varies (weekly to bi-weekly).

Why should I work with an executive coach?

    +
The skills that got you into your current role aren't always the ones that make you most effective in it. Coaching helps executives sharpen how people communicate, lead, make decisions, handle challenges and show up in various situations. Point Road Group executive coaches provide an objective lens, sounding board, accountability partner and reality check to help you move forward professionally.

What kinds of results do executives see from coaching?

    +

Results vary depending on goals and where the person is starting from. A few examples include:

    • Senior leaders sharpen what's hardest to self-diagnose — how they're perceived, handle conflict and communicate under pressure.
    • Executives not yet at the top develop the presence, polish and strategic communication skills to get them there.
    • Individual contributors and player-coaches improve performance and working relationships, driving better business results.

Why should my company hire an executive coach?

    +
Companies bring us in to help their leadership team improve overall performance, including how they communicate with each other, make decisions, delegate responsibilities and handle conflict. Companies also bring us in when they have individuals who need to sharpen their confidence, executive presence and communications/presentation skills. These skills matter most during periods of growth or change, when leadership visibility, consistency and performance are most critical.

What is unique about Point Road Group executive coaches?

    +
We have a team of senior-level executive coaches who have many years of coaching, business and advisory experience. Our coaches are very strategic and practical, direct, empathetic and genuinely invested in our clients’ success. We focus on real outcomes, not theory.

How long does executive coaching take?

    +
Engagements are generally three to six months, although some have longer durations.
